This publication represents a defining milestone in Nigeria’s drive toward trust based, data driven climate finance. It distils lessons from the ecoWise pilot programme; Africa’s first digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) platform for solar projects and showcases how verified carbon revenues can unlock affordable finance, accelerate solar deployment, and expand energy access for millions of Nigerians.

The ecoWise Technical Report brings together insights from government institutions, financiers, corporate buyers, and technology innovators to outline a practical roadmap for embedding carbon markets into Nigeria’s clean energy transition. It also highlights how innovations like ecoWise can strengthen transparency, improve project bankability, and catalyse large-scale investment in distributed renewables.
